Share custom tools with your team

Share your custom tools with team members so everyone benefits from your automation.

Sharing Options

Team Sharing (Pro+)

Share tools with your organization:

Open Tool Settings

Go to Settings → Custom Tools → Select your tool.

Click Share

Click the "Share" button.

Choose Scope

  • Private - Only you can use
  • Team - All team members can use
  • Specific users - Choose who gets access

Save

Team members can now see and use the tool.

What Gets Shared

Secrets stay private. When you share a tool, team members must add their own API keys or secrets.

Managing Shared Tools

As the Owner

  • Edit the tool anytime
  • Revoke sharing
  • View usage statistics
  • Delete the tool (removes for everyone)

As a User

  • Use in chat and agents
  • Cannot edit the tool
  • Must provide own secrets
  • Can clone for customization

Tool Libraries

Organizational Library

Pro and higher plans have a shared tool library:

  1. Go to Settings → Custom Tools
  2. Click "Browse Library"
  3. Find tools shared by teammates
  4. Click "Add to My Tools" to use

Cloning Tools

Create your own copy:

  1. Find a shared tool
  2. Click "Clone"
  3. Customize as needed
  4. The clone is private to you

Best Practices

Document Your Tools

When sharing, include:

  • Clear description
  • Usage examples
  • Required API keys or setup
  • Expected inputs and outputs

Version Control

Keep track of changes:

  • Note major updates
  • Communicate changes to users
  • Consider cloning before major changes

Security Considerations

  • Never hardcode secrets
  • Use environment variables
  • Review who has access
  • Audit tool usage regularly
